Product Engineering Intern

Minimum qualifications:
- Basic proficiency in at least one programming language
- Understanding of programming fundamentals
- Experience building at least one software project
- Basic knowledge of Git and GitHub
- Ability to debug and solve technical problems
- Willingness to learn new frameworks and technologies
- Strong interest in software development and product building
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript
- Experience with React, Next.js or another frontend framework
- Experience with Node.js, Python or similar backend technologies
- Understanding of REST APIs
- Basic database knowledge
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Firebase, Supabase or similar platforms
- Understanding of cloud deployment platforms such as Vercel
- Open-source contributions or personal GitHub projects

BUILD SCITECH is looking for Product Engineering Interns who want to build and ship real technology.
You will work alongside our team to develop, test and improve software products used across BUILD SCITECH initiatives. Depending on your strengths, you may contribute to frontend applications, backend services, APIs, databases, automation or internal tools.
This internship is for builders. We value curiosity, experimentation and the ability to learn unfamiliar technologies more than knowing every framework already.
You should be comfortable turning an idea into code, debugging problems and improving your work through feedback.
This is an unpaid internship focused on practical software engineering experience and building production-facing projects.

Responsibilities
- Build features for BUILD SCITECH digital products
- Develop and maintain frontend and backend functionality
- Create and integrate APIs
- Fix bugs and improve existing systems
- Write clean, reusable and maintainable code
- Participate in code reviews
- Work with designers to implement interfaces accurately
- Test features before deployment
- Document technical decisions and implementation details
- Contribute ideas to improve product architecture and performance
- Ship working software during the internship
